Hello, currently on the train to Vienna after staying in Klagenfurt (Austria) yesterday. Klagenfurt is a pretty place. But our main reason for going there was to go to the Austria v Slovenia European Championship qualifying match. Unfortunately, we lost but the atmosphere in the Slovenian section was incredible. However, it was clear that some of the fans had peaked way too early in their enthusiasm and alcoholic content.
When we were waiting for the train to Klagenfurt we had breakfast at a cafe that had on its menu black juicy or hot burger (you had a choice) - I thought it was too early for a black juicy burger. In Klagenfurt itself, we went to the Puma outlet store and they had for sale cricket shoes. Didn't know they played cricket in Austria. Must be something new. On our way to the game we met some very friendly Slovenian fans (from Kranj) whose main mission seemed to be to get my nephew drunk.
The trains in Austria are excellent. However, currently on the train we are being treated to non-stop cat meowing as a couple decided to take their cats (in cat boxes) for an outing. I am hoping their destination is not Vienna.
