Hello, I am back. An eventful trip back as usual. Also as usual it was a nice sunny day in Piran when I left on Monday but the sea was very rough after the previous day's storm (see picture). As my bus got closer to the capital, Ljubljana, it got greyer and it was cold, only 13 degrees!
Bus Trip to Ljubljana
It didn't start off to well at Piran for a couple of tourists who tried to get on the bus I was on with another company's bus ticket. They still only had four hours until their bus left!
The person sitting in front of me tried to close the curtain as apparently the dappled light was a bit too much for her. To no avail though as the curtains were zip tied back.

Had lunch in Ljubljana before catching the bus to the airport. On the way saw a tour guide with a pink feather duster. I guess that's distinctive in a crowd. Also saw a person on a segway type thing which only consisted of one large wheel.

Fairly uneventful except for the grumpy old man moment I had with some students trying to jump the queue getting on to the bus. When challenged they said there didn't jump the queue. That might be because no one was allowing them to cut in. The bus driver also had his moment when again, one of the students, got on the bus without his monthly ticket which he forgot at home. The driver let him on but called him back and asked him what are you supposed to say, so he volunteered the magic words "Thank you".
At Ljubljana Airport they had a smokers booth but only a small one: maximum capacity of four. It looked very cosy (see picture below).
The Flights
The flight to Frankfurt was very bumpy at first when we were going over the mountains on the Slovenian-Austrian border. The person sitting next to me was clenching the armrests as if he he had been strapped to the chair. It always seems to be a problem with the bigger planes. the small ones don't suffer from the same amount of turbulence on that stretch. But thankfully it was as bad as it got on any of the flights.
Getting off the plane at Frankfurt was a bit of a nightmare. It appears they weren't expecting our plane as there were no stairs available to disembark for some time. And while people were waiting to get off at the front, other people were using the rear exit - unknown to the passengers waiting to exit from the front. No announcement that you could exit from the rear though.
I am always intrigued by the number of people busting to get on the plane - whether the flight be for 1 hour or 12 - to maximise the time they spend on the plane. Maybe they want to get the most out of their airfare or they need the time to store the enormous amount of "hand" luggage some of them bring on to the plane.
Unusually, had a number of younger children surrounding me on a couple of flights. Might be because I was sitting at the back but at least I had no one sitting next to me on the long haul flights. The children were reasonably behaved. One in the middle of the night had a screaming attack and another one started laughing like porpoise for a protracted period. It could have been much worse.
